Alessandro Hammond is a student at Harvard University. Currently, he is a research fellow at Boston Children’s Hospital, Whitehead Institute, and Massachusetts General Hospital. Alessandro uses single-cell technology to track genes involved in aggressive tumors, and researches health equity in Africa. His passion for health equity came after spending over a year in Sub-Saharan African countries working for his non-profit to provide medical care to rural and marginalized communities. His goal is to reduce barriers to service, digitization and modernization of healthcare, and innovate early detection care so citizens obtain vital information and access to healthcare facilities.
